When planning for surgical intervention, he utilizes the latest and most advanced surgical techniques for treatment.
“I choose the least invasive approach whenever possible,” he said. “Using the latest technology, including 3D image-guided intraoperative navigation, we are able to offer minimally invasive options for even some of our most complicated and challenging cases. This allows for faster recovery times for our patients and overall better outcomes.
Dr. Lowenstein has significant experience in treating disc herniations and stenosis of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine. He specializes in complex revision surgery for patients who have had previous spine surgery and have associated failed back syndrome and is a regional referral source for patients who have had spine surgery and require re-operation.
He has a particular interest in spinal motion preservation and will perform artificial disc replacement and posterior cervical laminoplasty to maintain motion when clinically indicated. Dr. Lowenstein also has expertise in the treatment of spinal trauma and fractures, as well as tumors of the spine.
